Yesterday evening, @clint419 - founder of Corteiz - took to his “close friends” story to unveil a preview of his upcoming collaboration with Nike on the Air Trainer Huarache.
Having broken the internet last year with three Nike collaborations on the Air Max 95s, the West London brand opted for a more nostalgic model this time around. With so much success last time around, it’s clear that Clint was rewarded with full creative freedom on the legendary silhouette this time around.
The exclusive shoe features what looks to be a nubuck upper in a muted grey colour palette that's offset with a green camo on the neoprene inside and gum outsole. Design details unique to the collaboration include: a Nike Swoosh on the perforated toe box with the “Allstarz” C next to it, a custom embossed strap with the “Alcatraz” logo, “BY CRTZ” replacing the usual “By NIKE” text on the tongue, and “RTW” replacing the iconic “AIR” on the back tab. The shoes will also come in a custom, retro Nike box with the Corteiz logo, alongside camo wrapping paper with an all over “Alcatraz” print.
Knowing Clint’s attention to detail, we’re sure that there will be more design elements that we discover as we get the shoes in-hand. He’s always loved to add his own spin to each collaboration, marking his stamp on everything he touches.
There are no current details on when the shoe is dropping, but watch this space: we'll keep you updated.
