Why Bottega Veneta’s winning in the perfume game

Bottega only released its fragrance collection last year – under the genius of former CD Matthieu Blazy – but it feels like these scents have always been a part of the Bottega lifestyle because they just make sense for the brand.

The five fragrances are inspired by Venice and Bottega’s signature intrecciato leathers, intricately weaving notes from different locations around the world to create peak olfactory experiences. The collection draws inspiration from the brand’s Venetian heritage, celebrating the city’s rich history as a trading port, embedding ingredients that have passed through Venice’s historical port.

Each scent truly represents what Bottega stands for: opulent, clean, sophisticated, seductive but also unexpected – just like every Bottega collection or campaign. The fresh Acqua Sale blends wood notes with sea salt, giving the vibe of saltwater on the skin, while Déjà Minuit brings a sultry energy by fusing Madagascan geranium with Guatemalan cardamom.

The bottles look like sculpted pieces of art. They are actually inspired by traditional Venetian glass-blowing techniques (you can actually see air bubbles on the glass, which makes every piece unique). And the beautiful verde Saint Denis marble base that each fragrance is accompanied with needs to be taken in.

Bottega just unveiled the travel edition of its permanent perfume collection, and the travel-size packaging is too good. The golden case mimicking the house’s signature intrecciato weave came correct, nodding back to the brand’s heritage and the inspiration for the fragrances: weaving notes from different corners of the world.

The set is designed to reuse and refill (each travel set includes 15ml of your fragrance plus an empty vial for you to fill up) and have your Bottega scent with you at all times.
