Situationships - you’ve either been in one, or known someone in one, and, unfortunately, the ending isn’t always pretty. So maybe it’s time to finally leave them behind in 2024.
A “situationship” is defined as “a romantic relationship between two people who do not yet consider themselves a couple but who have more than a friendship”... so basically a grey area.
Whether it’s to show others support, victimising themselves or sharing trauma for entertainment, posts tagged #situationship have more than 839 million views on TikTok meaning that people are clearly resonating with it. It’s not surprising either, with Gen Z having bigger commitment issues than any other generation.
So, should we try to be thankful for the good times in situationships despite a messy ending or leave any possible pain and trauma behind in 2024?
