
As summer approaches, fashion is preparing itself for the warmer seasons, with Givenchy launching its beach and swimwear-based collection and Ferragamo releasing a new series of eyewear. CELINE MAKES US WANT TO GO DRIVING
Created for CELINE’s “La Collection de Saint-Tropez”, the Riviera-themed offering introduces a vintage mini Moke, a convertible motor vehicle inspired by French actress Brigite Bardot’s go-to car. Creative director Hedi Slimane was inspired by the coastal town, having left California a decade ago to live there. The car itself features CELINE’s Triomphe symbol on its wooden steering wheel, gear stick and wheels, as well as in a monogram form on the roof’s canvas hood.

CONVERSE COLLABORATES WITH ALEXIS SABLONE
Olympian athlete, skateboarder and architect Alexis Sablone has joined the Converse team to create a brand new skate silhouette: the AS-1 Pro. Bridging the gap between the skate world and shoe design, the AS-1 Pro was created with Converse’s 80s basketball silhouettes, while continuing to improve its innovative performance with CX foam sockliner for extra comfort. Designed with the Star Chevron logo in green on its upper, the AS-1 Pro will release on May 2 with more colourways to come in June.

GIVENCHY HITS THE BEACH FOR PRE-FALL 2023
Set in the French Riviera, Givenchy introduces its Givenchy Plage collection filled with beach and swimwear for Pre-Fall 2023. Caftans, sarongs, dresses, button-up short sleeve shirts, shorts and denim mules blend together Matthew M. Williams’ California-informed aesthetic with Hubert de Givenchy’s own archival pieces, the original couturier having lived in and been inspired by the Riviera region. The collection has dropped on Givenchy’s website, with rollouts continuing throughout the next month.

FERRAGAMO BRINGS OUT ITS SS23 EYEWEAR
Ahead of the warmer seasons, Ferragamo is bringing out new glasses styles. Made with Eastman Tritan™ Renew technology, the shades are created with 50% recycled polyester derived from waste. Sunglasses come in a black and blue, and white and brown colourway among others, with Ferragamo’s customised Gancini 3D print on the temples, as well as a metal plaque with the brand’s logo found on the inside.

LEVI’S LAUNCHES ITS WELLTHREAD® SS23 CAPSULE
Taking a more sustainable approach, Levi’s’ WellThread® initiative is taking steps to reduce its environmental impact. For the SS23 capsule, Levi’s is using plant-based pigments and indigo dye for its apparel, as well as recycling the water used to finish off the denim pieces. With research informing every step of the way, Levi’s latest collection, which is now available online and includes denim shirts, trucker jackets, shorts and trousers, continues to improve its commitment towards a more sustainable future.

REPRESENT’S NEW COLLECTION IS MADE WITH MÖTLEY CRÜE
Brother and co-founders George and Michael Heaton grew up listening to rock music and now the two have collaborated with the iconic Mötley Crüe for their brand Represent. The 11 piece collection, which is now available for purchase on Represent’s website, takes cues from 80s rock merch with band graphics found on vintage wash t-shirts, hoodies, shorts and a tank top.

MILLINSKY IS TEAMING UP WITH LEGENDARY TENNIS PLAYER NOVAK DJOKOVIC
In honour of the Novak Djokovic Foundation’s e-commerce website launch, the artist and designer Alexandre Daillance, also known as Millinsky, has collaborated with the foundation for a collection titled “Dreamers Are Champions”. The six-piece collection is inspired by Novak Djokovic’s speeches, notably after his Australian Open victory. Proceeds from the collection, now available online, will help support the foundation’s mission to better children’s education in Serbia.

GENTLE MONSTER IS GOING BOLD
As an extension of the first BOLD collection titled “Galaxy of Evening 9” which launched last November, Gentle Monster is celebrating courage with its new BOLD 2023 collection. Inspired by the 1966 “9 Evenings: Theatre and Engineering” art project, infusing its new products with star symbols on its temples. The full collection is available for purchase on Gentle Monster’s website.

ABOUT:BLANK’S SS23 DROP 4 HAS ARRIVED
Inspired by co-founder Jack Henderson’s recent trips to Marrakech, the Moroccan infused collection features summer essentials that last beyond a season. Informed by a mid-century aesthetic, about:blank‘s new collection includes a pair of knitted shirts, boxy-fit t-shirts in a new peach colourway, hoodies, a matching sweater and pleated shorts, as well as a series of paisley-print bandanas. The collection is now available to everyone online.

META TURNS TO PUMA FOR ITS NEW AVATARS’ OUTFITS
Meta marked a milestone by releasing over a billion new avatars in time for the spring season. Initially launched in 2021, the avatars have received a complete makeover, with an emphasis on body diversity for users to express themselves across platforms, from Facebook to Whatsapp. In addition to new shapes, Meta has also collaborated with Puma to bring 7 new outfits, which will be available to purchase on May 1.

GABRIELLE ROSENSTEIN TURNS TO 3D CHARACTERS FOR SS23
In line with the drop of her SS23 collection titled “Charm”, designer and 3D artist Gabrielle Rosenstein has created digital sci-fi femme characters to embody her new collection and subvert the traditional concepts of ‘cute’ and ‘girly’. The collection features a silver and gold Key Charm, Lil Charm Bracelet, and a series of vegan bags found in various colourways, all brought into the digital world, and available for pre-orders on May 1.

BALLY CELEBRATES 70 YEARS OF SUMMITING MOUNT EVEREST
The Bally Peak Outlook Foundation was established 3 years ago in an effort by Bally to clean up Mount Everest. Today, the foundation makes a return to the Himalayas in honour of the 70 year anniversary since Tenzing Norgay and Sir Edmund Hillary became the first mountaineers to climb to the top. To celebrate the occasion, Bally is releasing 70 crewnecks sweaters in an ivory hue, inspired by the natural landscape. All profits made from the crewnecks, available online and in select stores, will be donated to the foundation.

BAGLLET HAS A FUTURISTIC EYE FOR ITS LATEST CAPSULE DROP
The Ukrainian accessories brand Bagllet centres its latest offering around one colour: the cosmic silver. With both design and practicality in mind, Bagllet revisits some of its classic models, such as the miniature crossbody BG122 and the capacious BG127 with an extra-terrestrial twist. From baguettes to totes, the new silver leather bags are now being sold on Bagllet’s website.
