Another weekend has come and gone, with many releases dominating the headlines within the sneakers community. Now that the dust has settled, we can look forward to the most significant drops happening this week. Whether you are looking to add some Nike Dunks to your rotation or have your eyes on a pair of Kanye West‘s infamous Foam Runner, the powers that be at Nike and Adidas have you covered.

THIS WEEK’S NEWS: 06.09.21 – 13.09.21

Last week we saw the LA-based Chrome Hearts turn its attention towards the world of sneaker customisation. The iconic brand hosted a pop-up in New York where a collection of recreated Nike Dunks filled one of the store’s walls. Chrome Hearts is no stranger to tailoring products, as its leather-patched jeans are crafted from vintage Levi’s. This is, however, the first time we have seen to company personalise a pair of Dunks.

The one-of-a-kind silhouettes feature hand-painted designs and see any metal on the shoe switched out for silver and gold accents. The creativity on display comes at a hefty price, though, rumoured to retail at $3,000. You could purchase the limited-edition kicks at the Sex Records NY pop-up by appointment only.

NEXT WEEK’S RELEASES: 13.09.21 – 19.09.21

All eyes turn to Kanye West and Adidas this week as we see another rendition of the YEEZY Foam Runner release. The legendary piece of footwear is built entirely from EVA Foam, making the shoe both comfortable and sustainable.

Talking of sustainability, Nike continues its quest to reduce waste when designing sneakers with its ‘Move to Zero‘ campaign. The latest sneaker to receive the earth-friendly treatment is the Nike Dunk. The pastel pink and white uppers are contrasted perfectly by the Nike Grind sole unit. Nike Grind is a collection of recycled materials from the manufacturing process, such as unsellable products and offcuts.

The sportswear powerhouse also looks set to drop a vibrant Lime Ice colourway alongside a minimalistic Grey Fog version. If you are yet to add a Dunk to your rotation, this week is the perfect opportunity.
