The craziest concept stores to get lost in

Despite the decline in brick-and-mortar stores in 2024, concept stores are thriving, and it’s not hard to see why. From the giant head installed at Gentle Monster’s Shanghai store to the alien terrains inside LN-CC’s London space, concept stores are bringing the art world’s insane approach to architecture and design to the average shopping experience.

It’s up for debate who first came up with the concept of a concept store: some argue 10 Corso Como did back in the day; others claim it was Colette; and some would even attribute the much later Opening Ceremony store with bringing the trend to its full potential. The one thing that most of us can agree on is the brands who are currently dominating the concept store game.
