The fashion industry’s been talking about Prada Group planning to buy Versace, and it’s just been announced that they did.
Prada Group, which owns Prada and Miu Miu (obvi) as well as Churches, just acquired the fellow Italian house for a chill €1.25 billion after months of negotiations. The news dropped shortly after Donatella Versace stepped down from her CD chair after leading the Versace brand for almost 30 years, and Dario Vitale (formerly design director at Miu Miu) is taking over.
So, what does that mean for Versace? Are we going to be seeing the Miu Miu-ification of Versace in the next few years? The house will def go under some revamping. It’s safe to assume that they would focus on pushing Versace accessories, and maybe some collaborations? We’re manifesting hard campaigns and campy opulence, tbh. We can’t say for sure, but we’re just glad Versace’s keeping it at home in Italy. So interested to see the new Versace era fr.
