Moncler Grenoble FW26 is rooted in legacy and buried in snow

Attending a Moncler Grenoble show takes dedication, comfortable shoes, and a few more layers than you’re used to needing at fashion week. Usually hosted on a snowcapped mountain somewhere in the world, for FW25 the brand invited us to hit up Courchevel’s ski resort in France, and this season, for FW26, we hopped on a plane to the icy peaks of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. But traversing the mountainous show space is worth it when you find your seat and look out on a blanket of snow that transforms into the runway.

As a brand known for its heritage in winter gear, having been founded in 1952 in Grenoble, France originally designing high-performance equipment for mountaineers and skiers, Moncler Grenoble has had heat in the winter sports game for almost a century. This was at the core of the brand’s FW26 show, which took inspiration from a combination of Moncler’s own innovative high-performance aesthetic and the refined elegance of 1950s American style.

From quilted jackets and luxurious knitwear to plush long-haired shearling, Moncler Grenoble understands how to design clothes that combat the elements without sacrificing style. Classic American prep appears in the form of neckerchiefs, fringing, ponchos, and Western-style embroidery on snowsuits. The runway also saw plenty of high performance gear designed to protect athletes and recreational skiers and snowboarders against the elements with the most innovative tech.
