Lyst’s summary of the second quarter of 2024, The Lyst Index, which ranks fashion’s hottest brands from 1 to 20, has just dropped. Here’s the rundown.
LOEWE, which at Q1 was in 3rd place, has crept up the the top stop, overtaking Miu Miu and Prada to become the hottest brand of Q2. Most likely its Met Gala sponsorship, Challengers partnership, and consistently viral campaigns are responsible for the 29% increase in searches for LOEWE in the last three months.
Miu Miu, which last quarter was at number one has slipped to 2nd, along with Prada falling one stop to 3rd at Q2, and we’re sure Miuccia’s plotting how to move them back up a space as we speak.
Saint Laurent moved up a spot to 4th, swapping places with Bottega Veneta which dropped one spot to 5th. Followed by Versace in 6th and Balenciaga in 7th - both a place higher than at Q1.
In 8th is Jacquemus, which has actually risen two spots, likely thanks to its viral Resort show, ‘Les Rayures’ posts, and partnership with Jennie. This is followed by Moncler which actually dropped three spots from 6th to 9th.
Gucci’s in 10th, Valentino’s 11th, and Kim Kardashian’s Skims comes in 12th as one of the very few non-high fashion brands on the list. Although, another is New Balance in 14th, just behind Burberry which dropped from 12th to 13th.
15th to 19th on the list is occupied by Louis Vuitton, The Row, Alaïa, JW Anderson, and Dolce & Gabbana respectively. And a newcomer arrives in 20th: Coach, which was last on The Lyst Index in Q4 2022, re-entering the competition after a 27% increase in searches this quarter, driven by demand for its Tabby bag.
