G-SHOCK’s new GA-V01 watch is too tough

G-SHOCK just launched the GA-V01 series and it’s designed to be the embodiment of toughness. It stays true to the brand’s focus on durability, with the GA-V01’s development being influenced by their mission to create an unbreakable watch.

G-SHOCK’s new GA-V01 watch is too tough

In typical G-SHOCK fashion, the watch has 200 meter water resistance and the brand’s signature shock-resistant structure with a curved bezel to protect the glass. The magnetic hand-holding structure reinforces the ruggedness even further, where the hands are attached with magnetic force rather than being directly fixed to the shaft. This means that the Shock Release minute hand absorbs impact effectively when you’re caught slipping.

But it’s not all about practicality, the GA-V01’s design is also unmatched, with a seamless transition from the band to the bezel which gives the chunky watch a sleek and smooth edge. It’s also got bumper-style indexes and oversized hands for a bold touch, offset with a full LCD display behind it that resembles “bold eyes” for a functional yet playful touch. It comes in four colour ways: neon yellow, purple, matte black, and metallic silver, so you can match it with any vibe you’re going for.

The GA-V01’s also got the rest of G-SHOCK’s usual features like the 10-year battery life, world time, 1/100-second stopwatch, countdown timer and 5 daily alarms.

The GA-V01 Series will retail for $140 at select retailers, gshock.com, and the G-SHOCK Soho store. For more information about new releases and the G-SHOCK brand, visit here
