Basketball shoes are having a comeback - and now, adidas and OFFICE are resurrecting the greatest of them all.
The Superstar, which has been worn by hip-hop legends, sneakerheads and B-ballers during its fifty-odd year reign, is being relaunched by an immersive, multi-day event thrown by adidas and OFFICE.
Until 24th August, the retail activation venue Future Stores will witness an immersive even dominating London's Oxford Street, with thousands of visitors expected to attend in-person.
The two-floor 4,682sq ft building, which spans a whole Oxford Street block, is being transformed with a monochrome colour scheme referencing the Superstar's iconic black and white colour way.
Last night, on 21st August, the collab was launched with an exclusive VIP event and a premium swag bag featuring a limited-edition tote, Firebird tracksuit and Superstar socks (expect these to become collectors items).
Now, the experience is open to the public, and it's not to be slept on. The entire interactive event has been carefully curated to guide visitors through the brand’s DNA, with a fit wall and try on zone, basketball games and 3-D figurines, plus clothing rails, display units and mirrors specially-designed in the brand’s signature clean glossy black and white style. You can also capture the moment with the digital photobooths.
The event also extends even further, with visitors being treated to branded gumball machines and a slushy station offering branded monochrome food and drink. If you cop a pair of Superstars, you can visit a special customisation station or add exclusive shoe charms to create a one-off, bespoke item, only available at this event.
The adidas x OFFICE Superstar event runs until 24th August at Future Stores, located on London's Oxford Street. Make sure you head over to experience the unique event.
