Movies for getting in the festive vibe

The holidays are pending - your gifts should be wrapped, your turkey should be basting, and your feet should be up, so why not stick on a movie to get in the festive spirit? We've rounded up some of the best films to get you feeling festive this December 25th. Bc ngl, they don't put good sh*t like this on the TV any more.

Love Actually (2003)

The OG holiday movie that we all grew up watching is a festive classic perfect for setting the vibe his season. It's got everything: government affairs, cheating husbands, porn stars, and washed up rock stars. What's not to love (actually)?

Home Alone (1990)

There's no better sense of nostalgia than the vibes you get from rewatching the Christmas classic that is Home Alone. Nothing puts us in the mood for the holidays more than the attempted murder of two thieves by an unsupervised child. 'Merica!!

Die Hard (1988)

There is an even more "'Merica" movie on this list though: Die Hard. Many people might argue that this GOATed action-comedy is "not actually a Christmas movie" because it's too graphically violent, but ngl they can stfu. It takes place on Christmas Eve and that's enough for us.

When Harry Met Sally (1989)

If you're going into 2025 single - or wistfully in love with your best friend - When Harry Met Sally is a classic that'll get you feeling festive in all the right ways. They might celebrate multiple seasons in this movie given its set over a good few years, but the wintery New York vibes will still get you in the mood for snow.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (2001)

Harry Potter as a series is just giving festive vibes as a whole, but nothing says Christmas more than the first movie, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. It's got wizards, witches, snow, balls, and a guy with Ralph Fiennes mutated face on the back of his head - what's not to love!

The Holdovers (2023)

If you're looking to watch a festive movie that you haven't already seen a million times before, then The Holdovers is the one for you. It's an instant classic that's gained a ton of critical acclaim since releasing last year - namely Da'Vine Joy Randolph who plays Mary Lamb won so many awards for her part.
