Meet Dora Abodi, the designer behind Jaden Smith’s custom headpiece

If you’ve checked socials today, Jaden Smith’s unusual Grammy Awards 2045 fit - a suit styled with a castle on his head - will probably have been all over your feed, and we’ve done some digging into who designed it.

Created by Dora Abodi (aka @theunisus) - the Transylvanian-born founder of ABODI - the headpiece is actually meant to be a “Vampire Castle” and was custom made for Jaden to wear on the red carpet.

So who is Dora Abodi and what does her brand ABODI a stand for? Abodi gained her Masters in Fashion Design in Milan in 2013, and since then has been split between Milan and Budapest where she spent time growing up.

Her biggest inspiration comes from family and culture, as well as movies, pop culture, and literature, hence the play on Transylvania through a vampiric lens, referencing the legends about the place she grew up.

When designing Jaden’s headpiece in particular, Abodi wrote that the piece “combines the mysterious elegance of ABODI Transylvania with a bold, modern design inspired by Transylvanian history and the vampire legends of the Bathori.”
