It’s been nine years since Frank Ocean dropped an album, but it feels like there’s something cooking in the air. Blonded fans have been manifesting the artist’s return for almost a decade now, and the universe might be listening after all.

Over the past week, the universe (or Frank) has been dropping hints across the world. Last week, @tedchildish posted on IG that he saw someone putting up Frank Ocean posters in Tokyo, which featured a QR code linking to an IG page called @franciswupperman. A potentially sus account (which only follows @blonded), named after The Wizard of Oz actor with the bio: “Wonderment and joy are retained, heart-aches and nightmares are lost…” A quote from The Wizard of Oz book’s introduction.
Yesterday, @franciswupperman posted for the first time. The post includes three numbered slides that show the word “frank” in a white, grey and pink background, and is captioned “FRANK a tale of three parts…begins next week.”
The reactions are mixed: some fans are hyped up for a potential album drop, whereas some others are questioning whether this is real – with comments like “Prank Ocean” and “if ur a fan please stop this 😞 beating a man while he’s down brah” under the post. Frank, stop playing with us.
Whatever comes out of this, one thing’s for sure: we all want new Frank Ocean music.
