Bernie Sanders showed up on stage at Coachella

Senator Bernie Sanders pulled up on stage at Coachella this weekend, to deliver a speech slamming President Donald Trump’s policies.

Sanders, who had also spoken earlier in the evening at a packed rally in downtown LA, made his speech almost as an opening act to Clairo, who then performed as normal.

As soon as Bernie mentioned the US president, the Coachella audience booed, and he said: “I agree.”

“This country faces some very difficult challenges, and the future of what happens to America is dependent upon your generation,” he said on Saturday night. “We need you to stand up to fight for justice, to fight for economic justice, social justice and racial justice.”

He then introduced Clairo, saying: “I’m here because Clairo has used her prominence to fight for women’s rights, to try to end the terrible, brutal war in Gaza, where thousands of women and children are being killed. So I want to thank Clairo not only for being in a great band, but for the great work she is doing.”
