Emporio Armani and Our Legacy WORK SHOP have joined forces for a collaborative project, which sees the two brands share inspiration for a considered and curated capsule. It marries Emporio Armani’s design heritage with Our Legacy’s energising and inventive output, blending old and new in a selection of reworked and distinctive silhouettes.
The offering of menswear-leaning unisex pieces consists of sharp leather coats, heavy shearling flight jackets, soft tailored suits and overcoats in bold and textured wool fabric. Crisp white shirting provides a canvas for custom artwork prints, which showcase painted cat designs, nodding to Mr Armani’s love for his feline friends.
Corduroy and denim jeans work with heavyweight jersey to bring a more casual feel, which is completed with essential accessories like silk ties, leather gloves and wool berets.
The campaign, shot by UK-born, New York-based photographer Mark Borthwick, perfectly captures the synergy between the two brands, where Our Legacy’s Scandi spin on menswear meets Emporio Armani’s Italian craftsmanship. Models are pictured in a sunkissed outdoor setting, with a white backdrop contrasting with the crisp colour palette of the clothing.
Borthwick’s signature style of film photography shines through a mixture of crisp and hazy shots, which go heavy on the colour saturation. This playful, personality-filled approach extends into the styling, headed by Leung Pak Ting, where models are pictured laden with coats – but not in the way you would expect.
Models wear coats on their heads, staring directly into Borthwick’s lens, revealing layered pieces from the collection. Cats crop up throughout the campaign, first appearing in a promotional animation which invites us into a feline world where its inhabitants dine out and later relax from within the confines of a city apartment.
Boxy tailoring is worn nonchalantly, with its wearer leaning against the wall, donning a pair of round-rim specs. Shearling coats are displayed reclining on a sun lounger, which feels perfectly on-brand for Our Legacy, a label which juxtaposes the everyday with its elevated subculturally-informed offering.
Our Legacy WORK SHOP is the creative studio and crafts atelier of Our Legacy and has been behind stand-out Stüssy collaborations, as well as other link-ups with winemaker Gabrio Bini, Vans, Dr. Martens and Satisfy Running.
Emporio Armani x Our Legacy WORK SHOP will be available from November 17 via the Our Legacy website, OUR LEGACY Stockholm, London and Berlin stores, a special OUR LEGACY pop-up in Seoul, EMPORIO ARMANI store in Seoul and DOVER STREET MARKET London, Ginza, New York, Los Angeles and Beijing.
