With Gen-Z under lockdown, many of us have turned to creating our own clothing to pass free time.

Daniel Walters, who reconstructs vintage garments, told Vogue “In this generation there are lots of people like myself who are just creatives that see potential in the second-hand items and potential in themselves as artists.”

Daniel sells reconstructed vintage clothing on Depop, and it looks like many others are taking to the second-hand resale site to do the same.

Depop, has seen a 40% increase in listings since lockdown, with traffic on the app also skyrocketing by 74%!

This reflects a shift towards a more sustainable approach to fashion by Gen-Z as the majority of Depop customers are below the age of 25.

As well as selling old clothes, many young creatives are using the platform to sell their own designs, buy garments for upcycling, or to buy second-hand clothes to use as fabric.

Fabric dye company Dylon has also reported a spike in sales, after a surge in tie-dye tutorials flooding YouTube and TikTok.

So guys, have you been getting creative during lockdown?
