This week, supermodel Kate Moss is back with her iconic Diet Coke campaign for a second season. We’ve also got a new Byredo scent and Dr. Martens coming up with another special event to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the anti-mainstream Jadon boot.
DIET COKE BY KATE MOSS IS BACK FOR SEASON 2
Kate Moss is an icon and becoming Diet Coke’s creative director back in 2022 could very well be the most iconic thing she’s done. Back together for a second summer in a row, the continuation of the “Diet Coke by Kate Moss, Do What You Love” series was inspired by the drink’s own archives and the regular break from work at 11:30AM . Speaking on the new campaign, Moss said “it’s all about a pause to love what you love and indulge yourself in that moment, without taking yourself too seriously”.

AXEL ARIGATO IS GIVING THE ASTRO SNEAKER A BRAND NEW LOOK
The Astro sneaker first showed up for Axel Arigato’s SS23 collection, and now the shoe is receiving a white colour-based makeover. With a chunky silhouette inspired by 90s music, specifically the Swedish singer and songwriter Neneh Cherry, the design sees itself grounded in the clean-cut Scandinavian aesthetic. Coming in Grey/White and Black/Beige colourways in men’s editions and Beige/White and White/Purple for women’s, the new Astro sneaker is now available online and in Axel Arigato’s stores.

BURBERRY HAS JUST AWARDED A STUDENT OF THE ROYAL ACADEMY OF ARTS
Named after Burberry’s founder, the Thomas Burberry Prize for Print has been awarded to the Royal Academy of Arts’ Christine Wilkinson. Hand picked by creative director Daniel Lee and entrepreneur and creative Grace Ladoja, Wilkinson will receive a £20,000 grant to support their creative ventures, after presenting their “WASHING MACHINE 2” print in response to the RA’s “Only Collect” summer exhibition theme. After 3 years of support from Burberry, the British heritage brand is now launching an RA Schools Scholarship Grant and Bursary to further support young students.

DR. MARTENS IS LAUNCHING THE ALTERNATIVE PLATFORM
Celebrating the 10 year anniversary of the anti-mainstream cult shoe, the Jadon Boot, Dr. Martens has been doing the most this year, and we’re here for it. During Paris Men’s Fashion Week, the British shoe brand will be launching “The Alternative Platform”, a night filled with live musical talent, highlighting the brand’s alternative history. With tickets now available on Resident Advisor, Dr. Martens will host the likes of Métaraph, Cherry B Diamond, Mimi, Oko DJ and more.

JOHN LAWRENCE SULLIVAN X EVERLAST IS READY TO BOX
Get ready to throw some punches with Everlast and John Lawrence Sullivan’s collab. Led by Arashi Yanagawa, a former professional boxer, it makes sense for John Lawrence Sullivan to partner up with the leading boxing gear brand for a collection that champions the mindset of a challenger. Including tees, boxing shorts and gloves, a hoodie and sweatpants among other pieces, the collection drops today in select retail stores.

AR COMPANY WANNA IS PARTNERING UP WITH VALENTINO
The problem with online shopping is that you can never try on pieces before buying, but Valentino is finding a solution to that problem by partnering up with AR tech company WANNA. The first luxury brand to do this on the demo app, the two have partnered on a virtual try-on pilot, for customers to try on digital pieces using AR. Some of the pieces available to try on will include men’s tops from the Valentino Urban Flows Falls 2023 collection as well as the ValenTie from the Black Tie FW23 one.

SAMSØE SAMSØE IS HOLDING A POP UP DURING PARIS MEN’S FASHION WEEK
The Scandinavian clothing brand Samsøe Samsøe is hosting its first Kaffebar pop up during this upcoming Paris Men’s Fashion Week. A one-of-a-kind experience, the coffee bar will also be host to an innovative upcycled denim installation for guests to discover. The event will take place on Rue Charles-François Dupuis and will run from June 20 til 27.

BYREDO HAS A NEW CANDLE INSPIRED BY WEATHER
First introduced on its Instagram, Byredo is launching a new candle scent titled “Summer Rain”. Inspired by “a rainy parenthesis on a hot day”, the new candle is made up of notes of basil, spearmint, fig and ginger, mixing in scents of humidity and the buzzing summer nature. The smell is finished off with Tonka beans and sandalwood, to add that extra earthy-feel. Priced at $94, “Summer Rain” is now available on Byredo’s website.

KATIMO LAUNCHES A NEW DENIM-BASED LINE
Kyiv-baased brand Katimo is launching a new sub-label called Katimo Jeans. Led by founder Katya Timoshenko who is known to play with opposing dualities, Katimo Jeans takes a 90s inspired approach to denim, with its first drop now available online. Including 9 products, the latest drop features jeans, of course, as well as a bustier-style dress, a blazer, skirts and tops all made out of denim and inspired by the simple beauty of everyday life.
