In the middle of the US’s ongoing egg shortage, an unexpected brand has stepped up to help. Over the weekend, The Ordinary - a brand known for its no frills approach to skincare - dropped a new product at two of its NYC stores: cartons of eggs priced at $3.37 per dozen.
In a collab with MSCHF, the art collective famed for its unusual marketing techniques, the duo hosted limited drops of eggs, at an extremely reasonable price, during a time when most of the US are struggling to buy them.
That’s because of an avian influenza outbreak affecting hen populations in the US, that has led to supply constraints and empty egg shelves in supermarkets. The Ordinary really stepped up to deliver what the people of NYC have been looking for.
While some people raised that, for a vegan skincare brand, selling eggs feels kind of random, others are just happy to be able to get their hands on eggs rn. The Ordinary really stay giving the people what they want.
