In the six years we've been doing this, building Culted into the most influential youth media platform out there, one thing we've learnt is it isn’t easy for emerging creatives rn. In an industry built on gatekeeping, it's not surprising that new creatives are consistently being excluded and undervalued. We’ve seen the way Gen-Z and Gen-A tastemakers and disruptors struggle to have their voice heard, to the point that breaking through the noise and making an impact feels near impossible. We’re launching CultedXO to change that.
When we first dreamt up CultedXO back in 2023, it was fully centred within the beauty media space. Our community grew fast in that sector, and in those first months we received so many messages from new and established creatives in the beauty industry alike saying that they’d felt highly undervalued and often went uncredited in fashion media. They’d been waiting on an account like this for so long, that was about putting the creatives behind the scenes in the spotlight.
It was this realisation that sparked what CultedXO is now. Our audience of young and emerging creatives in the beauty space kept coming back because they felt represented, included, and valued. At the start of this year, we rebranded: CultedXO became a digital reset. Our ethos moved from spotlighting beauty creatives to changing the game for every newcomer in the creative industry. CultedXO was no longer just a media brand. It became an open-conversation, a key to a new era, a platform for emerging creatives, and a mic we would hand over to the individuals who are fighting to change their industry for the better.
We’re delivering more than content, more than comment sections, and more than viral moments. On CultedXO, we’re building a community of creatives who come to us to feel represented and empowered in an industry that seems desperate to keep young talent out and disruptive voices quiet. From our creative spotlights that bring emerging artists to the forefront, to our anti-gatekeeping content like giveaways that unlock doors in the industry, we’re changing the game on CultedXO.
