A legendary timepiece from Chanel’s world of luxury sports watches just released a new campaign. The J12 was designed in 2000 with function, innovation, and exploration in mind, and it’s still dominating the game today.

Inspired by the technical innovation and impressive design of racing yachts, Chanel’s new J12 is described by the brand as “softer than silk, yet stronger than steel,” which seems like an impossible feat. The J12 achieves this by being entirely out of ceramic, a material known for its unrivalled durability and softness.
Originally launched in 2000, the J12 was the first luxury watch designed completely using ceramic, born out of Chanel’s desire to keep innovating within the world of watchmaking and the brand’s instinct for exploration. Satisfying Chanel’s goal for ultimate simplicity, the original J12 was released in all black, shortly followed by an all white edition.
The J12 is a revolutionary timepiece that changed the game as soon as it was designed in 2000, and its new campaign is a reminder of that. Starring legendary models Gisele Bündchen and Clément Chabernaud, the campaign is shot against a backdrop of water as a reminder of its durability, technical innovation, and the natural materials of its design.
For over twenty years, Chanel’s J12 has been dominating in the world of sports watches. Hit up Chanel’s website to see why for yourself, and shop the collection.
