Kris Jenner works hard, but Balenciaga works harder, launching its brand new Cargo sneaker immediately after its standout Paris Fashion Week show. For SS24, the brand has introduced a see now, buy now model, giving fans a chance to get their hands on selected items from the collection.
The statement sneaker arrives in typical Balenciaga style, taking regular runners and enlarging them to give them a pronounced and oversized aesthetic. Arriving in weathered grey, complete with a yellow heel tab and pull tab to the tongue, a classic microfiber and mesh construction sits atop an exaggerated foam sole.
Balenciaga’s branding can be found across the leather-free silhouette, featuring on the outsole tongue and heel, which continues the chunky sneaker legacy the Spanish House first started with the Triple S in 2017.

As part of its Spring 2024 show, we saw the return of Creative Director Demna’s signature playful input, which not only saw its statement sneakers worn in full tracksuit nods to athleisure but also presented boxy oversized looks with wrap-around sunglasses, dressing gowns as coats, and suitcase crafted to humongous proportions. SS24 was a playful display that showed that the brand is still capable of putting the fun in fashion.
The Balenciaga Cargo Sneaker is available to purchase now for €1,190 at Balenciaga.com and in a selection of its key flagship stores globally.
