adidas Originals has again tapped British designer Grace Wales Bonner for a collaborative drop as part of Spring/Summer 2021’s offering.
The collection explores the ‘diasporic connections between Britain and the Caribbean’, focusing on the styles of the 1980s. Reworks of the adidas Samba and Nizza sneakers are also included in the range. The Samba will be released in two colourways; one in green and black and the other in navy and yellow. The Nizza will be available in three different colourways; white and red, purple and yellow and a navy and green design.
Alongside the sneakers, the collection will include a number of apparel pieces including tracksuits, football tops and shorts. In a statement, adidas wrote that “Grace Wales Bonner is a cultural polymath who sees fashion as an intuitive means to understanding a multiplicity of perspectives, proposing a distinct notion of luxury, via a hybrid of European and Afro-Atlantic approaches”.
The adidas Originals by Wales Bonner SS21 collection ranges from $100 to $320 USD (£70 to £230) and will be released on the adidas website on March 26.
