To mark its 60th anniversary, Dr. Martens teamed up with Boston-based streetwear boutique Bodega for a release focusing on the three-eye 1461 silhouette. The collaboration, which dropped earlier this week was the second time the two worked together, since a collaborative release back in 2019.
The all-black model features additional materials to the upper including a tectuff toe-cap, a mixed material upper with hits of pebbled leather and suede and below, a winter grip outsole.
The hard-wearing aesthetic is reminiscent of their first collaboration and even though this is only their second creation together, you can sense how well their imprints suit each other. This is not the only reason why the collaboration makes sense. Thanks to the two brands meshing with each other perfectly, it all feels pretty authentic. The contemporary ethos of Bodega clashes brilliantly with the heritage of Dr. Martens. But also because the shoe itself is simple, elegant and easy to wear. The mixed-material design allows for the collaboration to be worn with a myriad of outfits, whether dressed down with raw denim and a workwear jacket or paired with a slim-fitting suit and button-down shirt.
The Bodega x Dr. Martens shoe is still available in select sizes on the Dr. Martens website and on relevant stockists.
