It’s CULTED bringing you a little history lesson.

Ever wondered who created the bi-annual fashion calendar? Or who made Paris the fashion capital of the world? Well the answer might surprise you… it was actually former King of France Louis XIV!

Responsible for shaping the fashion world as we know it, it wasn’t a love of fashion that motivated the king, it was business. Along with his finance minister, Louis realised he could use fashion to stimulate the economy so he ordered that new fashion, accessories and textiles be designed twice a year. And behold: summer and winter collections were born!

But he didn’t stop there. He ordered that anyone visiting him in the Palace of Versailles be dressed head-to-toe in only the most current trends. I mean let’s be honest, if we had that power we’d do the same! His targeting of the upper-class meant they had more money to splash on the latest trends and his business plan boomed.

So guys did you know about the king of fashion?
