What Is Actually Happening This Fashion Month?

Let’s be honest, does anyone have any idea what’s going on with fashion month?
With global quarantine policies changing on the daily, keeping up with fashion weeks, show schedules, and who’s showing physically, digitally or not at all has become near impossible.
But don’t worry we’ve got you covered.
Fashion month, as always, kicked off with New York at the start of the month, but the schedule was cut down to just 4 days, rather than the usual 8, with big names like Marc Jacobs and Pyer Moss choosing not to show.
Then we moved on to London Fashion Week which is happening now. It kicked off on Thursday with the majority of shows being digital films, broadcast via livestream. Unlike New York, the London Fashion Week schedule hasn’t changed as dramatically, with brands including Burberry, Vivienne Westwood, and JW Anderson all presenting. LFW will finish tomorrow with a closing show by Richard Quinn.
Then we move onto Milan, which will feature IRL shows, from the likes of Versace and Fendi. However, Raf Simons’ long-awaited debut presentation scheduled for Prada has now moved from physical to online. The presentation will take place this Thursday 24 September.
And finally we end with Paris on 28 September. Paris Fashion Week at this point also looks set to host predominantly physical runway shows, however the rising coronavirus cases in France might have an impact. Powerhouses including Louis Vuitton, Dior and Chanel all currently look set to host IRL runways. And as for Matthew Williams Givenchy debut, the designer will show a digital preview with his first full-scale presentation for the house set to take place next season.
But of course, all these details could still change. Despite all this happening in the next few weeks, the coronavirus situation is changing on the daily.
