It’s CULTED with your morning NEWSRUSH for Wednesday 30 September.
First up, Extinction Rebellion have issued an open letter to the fashion industry calling for the industry to reduce its carbon footprint. The letter marks the start of a new campaign, called Fashion Act Now, which launches during Paris Fashion Week. Fashion Act Now will target the industry’s overconsumption and the fashion week format.
In other news, Donatella Versace has shut down rumours that Burberry’s Riccardo Tisci will be moving to Versace. Rumours have been rife in the UK and Europe but speaking to WWD, Donatella “firmly denied speculation”.
Speaking of rumours, it looks like a potential collab between Louis Vuitton and the NBA could be on the cards. The supposedly leaked images show a brown suede boot with an NBA logo on the tongue, and gold LV stamps in the sole. At this stage, this is all rumours but we’ll keep you posted.
Next up, Supreme is collabing with The Smurfs on a collection that’s dropping this week. The drop features jackets, jeans, hoodies, skate decks and more. It’s released October 1 in the US and October 3 in Japan.
To round off this morning’s updates, the biggest ever auction of Kaws’ artwork is set to take place in Paris on October 4. The auction includes over 250 pieces, including a customised Fendi purse, and a pair of Jordan 4’s.
That’s all for this morning. It’s Sam with CULTED.
