It’s CULTED with your morning NEWSRUSH for Wednesday 26 August.
First up, a huge collection of archival Alexander McQueen pieces is heading to auction this September. Jennifer Zuiker’s collection features ready-to-wear and couture pieces spanning Lee Alexander McQueen’s life, from his bumster jeans to Plato’s Atlantis. The auction will be held online by Doyle on 10 September.
In similar news, Sotheby’s is holding an auction of Notorious B.I.G’s ‘King Of New York’ crown. It’s been sold as part of the first hip-hop auction to ever be presented at a major international auction house, and will take place on 15 September.
Next up, Palace has teamed up with technical sneaker brand Salomon to release a new XA COMP ADV. The functional sneaker is inspired by 90s skate and drops this Friday 28 August.
And to round off this morning’s updates, a leaked memo has revealed that a Travis Scott x McDonald’s collab is on the cards, as a part of a “big celebrities” series of partnerships for the fast food giant. At this stage details are scarce: will it be an apparel collab, a happy meal toy or a national campaign?
For now, we’ll have to wait and see.
