We linked up with Mercedes-Benz in LA a couple weeks back to take a first look at the brand’s all new electric G-Class. From an exclusive preview of the all-new, all-electric off-roader to a surprise performance by Travis Scott, here’s what went down.

Arriving in Franklin Canyon Park, LA we hit up the open-air venue that Mercedes-Benz had taken over for the reveal of its all new electric G-Class, where it invited its community to preview the vehicle, with guests including Kendall Jenner, Ciara, Aminé, Madelaine Petsch, Saweetie, Bakar, and many more.

Inside Franklin Canyon Park, Mercedes-Benz’ guests were welcomed into the electrified world of its new electric G-Class with a surprise performance from Travis Scott, where he performed some of his best-known tracks, including “FE!N,” and “SICKO MODE” from the roof of the all-electric 4×4.

You might be wondering “why LA?” Well, as a spokesperson from Mercedes-Benz explained: “Los Angeles is a place famous for its legends, which is why we chose to reveal our new electric G-Class right here in Beverly Hills.”

The event itself didn’t just spotlight Mercedes-Benz’ new electric G-Class though; it actually took us on a journey back into the model’s heritage. Entering the brand’s event space in L.A., we walked past Kendall Jenner’s personal G 500 Cabriolet, before being previewed the latest generation of the G-Class unveiled only last month.

So what is it that sets apart the electric G-Class from the rest? With new off-roading abilities, the electric G-Class offers unique driving characteristics including the G-TURN, a feature that allows drivers to turn the car almost on the spot – it’s actually amazing to see.

While many speculated that the latest G-Class would adopt the “EQ” suffix used on other electric Mercedes-Benz models, this new, electric rendition goes by G580. The G580’s four electric motors offer 579 brake horsepower and 240 miles of range. Prices for the 2025 model are expected to start at $180,000.
