Virgil Abloh has launched an online auction on his ‘Canary Yellow’ platform, which features a number of Damien Hirst’s own paint-splattered clothing up for grabs.

The clothes, which include jackets, coats, shirts and jumpers, were frequently worn by Hirst in the studio, hence all the paint splatters.

Designed by Los-Angeles-based fashion designer Tetsuzo Okubo in tandem with Hirst, the clothes are one-of-a-kind. The pieces are customised by Okubo and are littered with his iconic touches of smiley faces and pop-art style fonts.

The clothing line titled ‘Beverly Hirst Recycler’ fuels the 2021 trend of upcycled clothing. Although granted, the first piece; a pixelated camouflage shirt, sold for $4,500 so it’s not your typical pre-loved piece.

The auction is currently taking place on Virgil Abloh’s platform ‘Canary Yellow’, with one item set to be auctioned off every day this week.
