It’s CULTED with your Thursday NEWSRUSH.
First up, Victoria Beckham is to cut almost 1/5th of its staff, due to the impact of coronavirus, and a decrease in consumer demand. The brand also plans to reduce the clothing produced by 30%-40%, as Beckham “takes things back to basics.”
In other news, Champion has introduced a new eco-friendly streetwear line. Featuring hoodies, tees, bucket hats and more, the new ‘Re:Bound’ range is made with 45% recycled cotton.
Next up, Gucci launched its AW20 campaign for ‘Gucci The Ritual’. The feel-good video sees models wearing the collection from home whilst lip synching to the summer singalong anthem, “Alright” by Supergrass.
And to round off this morning’s updates, fans have rallied in support of singer Rina Sawayama, after she was omitted from the Mercury Prize nominations, as well as the Brits, due to a nationality clause, despite living in the UK for the last 25 years and being signed to a UK record label. Sawayama was bypassed for the awards. Fans have been tweeting the hashtag #SAWAYAMISBRITISH to stand in solidarity with the artist.
That’s all for this morning’s news round-ups, stay tuned for our recap of yesterday’ Celine show coming up at 2pm.
