Thursday NEWS RUSH Featuring Vogue Italia’s Blank Cover.
It’s CULTED bringing you your Thursday morning NEWS RUSH.
First up, Vogue Italia continues to receive high praise for its April issue’s blank cover, which is in response to the coronavirus crisis. In an instagram post, Editor-in-chief Emanuele Farneti, explained that the white represents respect, rebirth and “the colour of the uniforms worn by those who put their own lives on the line to save ours”.
In other news, Kanye West is reportedly planning a virtual Sunday Service for Easter. As well as a performance from Kanye, according to reports, viewers will also see Mariah Carey sing ‘Hero’, in a tribute to medical professionals around the world. Tyler Perry is also rumoured to be joining the line-up, delivering a message of support to viewers.
Next up, Tommy Hilfiger has been looking into virtual reality runways. The brand has already been experimenting with holograms and avatars and plans to debut its virtual runways “as soon as the virus is over”. Hilfiger’s CEO Daniel Grieder said “we did some tests, it’s something new and I think the end consumer and the trade will like it.”
That’s all for today.
It’s Sam with CULTED. Have a great Thursday.
