With the fashion calendar undergoing a serious shake-up, here’s a rundown of the brands that have said goodbye to traditional fashion weeks.

First up, many high-profile British brands chose not to show at last weekend’s digital LFW including Burberry, Vivienne Westwood and Victoria Beckham.

Michael Kors also announced this week that he’s pulling his label from September’s Fashion Week, instead opting to show in 2021.

Similarly, Armani pulled out of this summer’s haute couture shows, deciding instead to show the seasonless collection independently in January, at the company’s headquarters.

Saint Laurent has also announced that it will “take control of its pace and reshape its schedule”, dropping out of Paris Fashion Week for SS21.

And one that’s not a shock is Alexander Wang who since 2018 has chosen not to follow the regular fashion calendar.

And of course, Dries Van Noten penned an open letter to the industry calling on a reshaping of the fashion calendar which was signed by Craig Green, Thom Browne and Marine Serre, to name a few.

And Gucci is also ditching the “worn-out ritual of seasonalities and shows.”

Who will be the next brand to wave goodbye to Fashion Week?
