For FW23, Natasha Zinko’s monster was unleashed, running wild with green-spray painted bodies and Hulk-esque skin-tight tops and bottoms taking centre stage. For its most recent Resort collection, Natasha Zinko has captured the monster and tamed it, with it just peeking through on certain pieces.

This collection, Natasha Zinko went for a cleaner look. Jackets are found fitted and shapes are taken back to basics, while some shoulders are exaggerated like on a dark floral number. Contrast was used throughout the collection, where padded pieces were found still fitted and cropped.

While some hit the gym to get ready for summer, Natasha Zinko skips that step and adds the summer-bod straight onto the clothing. The Herculean green six-packs that were exploding on the runway last season are seen compacted and controlled here on black cropped jackets. Repurposing is found in more than one way in this Resort collection, with old styles being reborn in the form of a wide skirt and hoodie.

Even the green, the colour of last season, is subtly seen appearing, though this time in the form of a punked-out rabbit on a tee. From humans to animals and the hybrid monster, this collection’s inspirations were all over the place, intentionally though. The ‘R’ that most think stands for ‘Resort’ took a new meaning for Natasha Zinko, turning to the ‘Random’ to inform the playful and costume-y yet refined collection.
