Yesterday, Silvia Venturini Fendi debuted her last solo outing, before Kim Jones heads up Fendi womenswear next season. She showcased the collection via a physical show, which featured digital elements, and the theme surrounded family, a topic that’s been at the heart of the Roman brand’s narrative since it was first created by the five Fendi sisters. This even flowed through to the show invitation which was a box of Fendi pasta.
In terms of the clothing, flowing linen, cotton and silk fabrics graced the runway, making for a casual yet elegant collection. Relaxed fits and sheer fabrics, paired with a recurring white colour palette made for an ethereal feeling, which was enhanced by a backdrop of huge, white draping curtains flowing by an open window.
The co-ed collection saw bursts of reds and blues, along with pops of bold yellows and pinks through shoes and bags. Speaking of bags, as always with Fendi they stood out, from wicker picnic baskets, to canvas logo totes.
We also have to mention the casting, as there was a diverse range of models from skin colour, to sizing. Let’s hope that we see more of this from upcoming shows.
So guys, we want to hear from you: what did you think of the Fendi show?
