QuarantineTV EP4: Top 5 Fashion Shows.
Music by: Simon Sizer – Aethra.
It’s CULTED here to help you through the boredom of quarantine, again. Welcome to the 4th and final episode of our quarantine series. Today we’ve put together our 5 favourite fashion shows throughout the ages that you can rewatch on YouTube.
In at number 5 is Versace SS92. We know you want to see some original vintage Versace runways.
The show has all the OG supermodels like Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell and Carla Bruni, just to name a few. It really reminds us of the golden era of fashion.
In at number 4 we have Iris Van Herpen with the dazzling Hypnosis couture collection.
Iris explained that her mesmerising looks are a visualisation of “the symbiotic cycles of our biosphere that interweave the air, land and oceans”. The movement in the designs are out of this world and Van Herpen’s breathtaking collection is definitely one for the history books.
The third on our list is Dior SS07 Couture.
Inspired by the opera ‘Madame Butterfly’, this is an iconic and unforgettable Galliano-era Dior collection. The clothes are magnificent, and the presentation is dreamy and truly elegant. One of Galliano’s best collections for the House of Dior for sure!
For more vintage haute couture vibes, the second spot goes to Mugler SS97 Haute Couture.
Mugler has always been so ahead of his time, not only does the collection still feel fresh, Mugler was using trans models already in 1997. We adore this show – dark, sexy and alluring, the runway is truly brought to life by the models. Mugler is truly the king of drama and theatre.
And finally, at number one, McQueen Horn of Plenty.
More than just a catwalk, McQueen mocks the entire fashion system with this show. The clothes, hats and Lee Bowery inspired makeup are pure genius and the models’ exaggerated walks really elevate the entire concept.
And this brings our little series to a close. We hope our suggestions helped your time in quarantine pass a little easier.
And guys, don’t forget to leave your own suggestions in the comments!
