It’s CULTED here to help you through the boredom of quarantine.
Welcome to episode 3 of our 4 part series of shows, documentaries, films and top runways you could be watching while stuck at home! Today we’ll be diving into our top 5 fashion documentaries!
First up, for a little lighthearted, supermodel fun, number five on our list is Unzipped.
The film takes us through the launch of Isaac Mizrahi’s 1994 collection. Among the many icons featured are Linda, Kate, Naomi, John Galliano and Richard Gere.
In fourth place we have Kevyn Aucoin: Beauty and The Beast in Me.
The renowned makeup artist to celebs and supermodels, Kevyn’s life was a rollercoaster. The documentary features footage from hundreds of unseen videotapes Kevyn recorded throughout his career. This documentary is like a time capsule to the golden era of fashion. A Must-see!
Third place is snagged by The First Monday in May.
Ever wondered how the Met Gala is organised? As the gala has been postponed this spring, we must make do with a documentary about it – and this one really helps fill the void!
Second place goes to Dior and I.
Visually stunning, this documentary takes us through Raf Simons’ first collection for Dior. It’s a gripping insight into the challenges and wins that go with creating a collection for a legendary heritage luxury brand such as Dior.
Finally, first on our list, is McQueen.
Lee Alexander would have celebrated his 51st birthday on March 17th, so what better way to remember him, than watch one of the most staggeringly beautiful fashion documentaries out there. It’s available to stream on Netflix, so what are you waiting for?
So, get watching, and let us know which documentary is your favourite!
And make sure to stay tuned for the 4th and final episode where we countdown our top 5 favourite runway shows.
