As the first luxury fashion brand ever, Prada has signed a €50 million, five-year loan agreement – linked to sustainability with the Crédit Agricole Group.

The terms of the loan commit them to use only certain fabrics and yarns, and to provide sustainability training to their employees.

Being the first fashion giant to take a financial step like this, might perhaps make Prada a role model within the fashion industry.

The loan really demonstrates their commitment to becoming green!

This step by Prada is timely.

According to trend forecaster WGSN, the two most important things fashion consumers already care about and will continue to care about are; the impact clothes have on the environment and whether brands critically question their own approach to sustainability.

That means brands like Prada need to practise what they preach and take real actions – for example by signing a sustainability loan!

So guys, what do you think about Prada’s step to becoming more sustainable – are they leading by example and setting the standard for other brands?
