With announcements that Paris and Milan fashion week are transforming into digital events, it’s easy to see how technology is transforming fashion.
In a recent article published by Forbes, Brooke Roberts-Islam discusses AI fashion start-up, Bigthinx who will be presenting the first fully 3D fashion show tomorrow, in partnership with Fashionnovation.
Digitised models wearing digitised clothing might become fashion’s new normal as both London and New York fashion week have already shown interest in the solutions provided by Bigthinx. Chosen by Prada for their fashion tech accelerator programme, their unique body-scan technology allows it to calculate precise body measurements from just two photos and a selfie!
Of-course, full fashion digitisation does not come without its challenges. The founders explained to Brooke that design decisions for a show must be finalised well in advance to allow time for the digital creation process, and creating realistic animations is a whole other feat. He went on to say that the Prada Group is “looking to us to invent things they will need in the future”.
So guys, what digital changes can we expect from Prada?
