The time has come, Pharrell is debuting his Louis Vuitton collection tomorrow during the first day of Paris Men’s Fashion Week – what a start to the week. Ever since the appointment was announced back in February, it’s all anyone has been talking about. What direction is Pharrell going to take LV in? I guess we’ll find out in about 24 hours, but in the meantime, here are our predictions – or maybe a manifestation of our wishful thinking.
First things first. It’s going to be a high profile show. Pharrell himself being high profile, fashion has been tapping into A-listers more and more in past seasons, and considering Rihanna starred in the SS24 campaign, this show is going to be crawling in celebs. With Pharrell’s in on the music industry, we could see faces like Kid Cudi on the runway and A$AP Rocky and Jaden Smith front row – even maybe an appearance from his longtime collaborator and bestie NIGO.
Speaking of NIGO, Pharrell’s entry to fashion is closely related to the now-creative director at Kenzo. With NIGO helping Pharrell to start his own brand, Billionaire Boys Club, Pharrell’s hold on the Japanese and American streetwear scenes, we’re sure that upcoming LV collection is going to be filled with streetwear references and influences, while still keeping an elevated, lux feel to it.
This one definitely feels more like wishful thinking than an actual production, but we wouldn’t mind a nod to his iconic “Millionaire Sunglasses”. Having worked with Louis Vuitton in 2004 on a sunglasses range, it would be sick to see a retrospective take on the accessories, seeing how both the luxury brand and Pharrell himself have grown since then.
Okay, back onto things we know for sure. A couple of months ago, Pharrell showed off his vision in the form of a monogrammed LV leather jacket at the reopening of the NYC Tiffany & Co. flagship store. With so many house logos and monograms to play with, it’ll be interesting to see how Pharrell takes this on.
Inching closer and closer to the show, we have finally gotten a look at the show invite, and there’s a few things we can uncover from it. First off, the name of the show is “Lovers”, spelt with the LV superimposed logo for the first letter and the diamond-shaped floral motif used as the ‘o’. The invite also came accompanied by a two-tone print, something that could potentially come back up on the runway clothing.

While there’s been a lot of speculation here, the one thing we’re sure of is that, one way or another, there’s going to be a Virgil Abloh tribute. Whether that comes in the form of a collection that builds on his past designs or a runway that reads quote-on-quote “FOR VIRGIL”, Pharrell will find a way to pay homage to his late friend, collaborator and predecessor at Louis Vuitton.
