Our Top 5 AW20 Womenswear Shows.
Cabaret Nocturne – Western Ghost.
It’s CULTED.
Fashion Month just came to an end earlier this week. so here are our top 5 shows from AW20 womenswear.
In at number 5 is Maison Margiela.
The romantic collection beautifully mixed contrasting colours, textures and fabrics to make layered garments. Many pieces were upcycled, and the tanning and farming processes for the bags were fully sustainable.
At number 4 is Gucci.
Alessandro Michele blew us away with his time capsule collection. The show took place on a giant carousel which represented the fashion circuit and featured looks inspired by decades of fashion.
Moncler’s Genius presentation comes in at number 3.
We saw spacemen, puffer gowns and inflatable suits oh and a Rick Owens tour bus. The immersive experience was a collaboration between JW Anderson, 1952, Grenoble, Simone Rocha, Craig Green, Alyx, Hiroshi Fujiwara and Richard Quinn.
Speaking of Richard Quinn, the emerging designer comes in at number 2.
The show was titled ‘Dreamhouse’ and that was EXACTLY what it was. It opened with 2 beautifully crafted diamanté looks leaving jaws on the floor. One of our fav looks of the night, was a classic floral print dress, with the signature latex suit underneath.
And in at number 1 is Balenciaga of course.
The house blew us away when they transported us into a dystopian universe, complete with a flooded show space. Not only was the production an incredible comment on climate change, but the clothes were equally impressive.
