Organisations To Donate To In Support Of The Black Lives Matter Movement
Music by: Simon Sizer – Ares.
It’s CULTED.
During the social media blackout, it’s essential that we use this time to do all that we can to help the ongoing movement. If you are in a position where you can donate, we’ve created a list of organisations that would greatly benefit from donations.
First up is Black Lives Matter, the official organisation responsible for the global #BlackLivesMatter movement. Their mission “is to eradicate white supremacy and build local power to intervene in violence inflicted on Black communities.”
Next the Minnesota Freedom Fund donation link has gone viral and they have been overwhelmed with donations. They have recommended that instead of them, you send your contributions to the Black Visions Collective and Reclaim The Block.
The Black Visions Collective pursue a commitment to dismantling systems of oppression and violence, whilst Reclaim The Block organises Minneapolis council members “to move money from the police department into other areas of the city’s budget that truly promote community health and safety.”
The Pimento Relief Fund is another charity that urgently needs your help. They provide black business with insurance relief after white supremacists set them on fire during the protests.
We have included more charities and fundraisers below.
So guys, how do you think fashion could do better?
