Pharrell’s BBC and SECRET BASE have released a new Astro Boy figurine while NewJeans dropped a new music video that was entirely shot on an iPhone.
Aries x Malibu uses AI for its collab campaign
The cult streetwear brand has teamed up with the spirit company to give us a collection that is as summer-y as a Malibu bottle’s graphics. The 6-piece collection includes some tees, vests, a trucker hat and varsity jacket featuring a new collaborative logo, as well as crystal and gold grillz made with Milk & Honey. To commemorate the collab collection, Aries and Malibu have tapped Omar Karim to create an AI-generated campaign that captures the summer vibe.

1017 ALYX 9SM is now into music
Matthew M. Williams knows a thing or two about the relationship between music and fashion, having previously worked with artists to create custom fashion show soundtracks. Now, the 1017 ALYX 9SM founder and creative director is working with Alamo records founder and CEO Todd Moscowitz to curate a compilation of original music for the brand, with the first single being FAMOUS LAST WORDS (An ode to eaters) by Ethel Cain.

BBC & SECRET BASE come out with a new Astro Boy figurine
The brand new Astro Boy figurine by Pharrell’s Billionaire Boys Club and SECRET BASE is here. Linking up with the Tokyo-based producer HIDDY, the new chain-heavy yellow toy is made out of vinyl, with boots and hands coming in an ombré effect. The Astro Boy figure is now available on BBC’s website, priced at ¥60,500 / £334 (approx.).

NOCTA x Nike releases a new colourway of its Drake-approved fleece
For the 10th anniversary of its Tech Fleece, Nike turns to Drake’s NOCTA to celebrate the innovative garment. First teased on Drizzy’s Instagram in a baby blue version, the Tech Fleece got an all-black makeover on the Crew, Hoodie and Open-Hem Pant. The new Tech Fleece items will all be available on the SNKRS app on July 28.

PLEASURES x Eastpak is already prepped for spooky season
It may not be October yet but PLEASURES and Eastpak have their eyes set on Halloween. For their latest collaboration, the streetwear brand and bag brand have delivered us a capsule collection that features a zip-vest with a split-spinal cord on its back, a hybrid bucket hat-bag and a makeover of Eastpak’s Gerys backpack with skeletal ribcage detailing. No need to wait for spooky season to come around to cop these pieces, which are all available now on Eastpak’s website.

Byredo opens a new store in Brooklyn
After finding a home in Manhattan’s SoHo, Byredo is taking the L line to Williamsburg to open its new Brooklyn store. Byredo is aesthetically minimalist and clean-cut, which is exactly how the inside of the store looks. The walls are wood-panelled while the products are displayed on aluminium tables and shelves.

NewJeans drops the music video for ETA
Following the release of its second EP Get Up, the K-pop group NewJeans has just released the music video for ETA. The video was shot entirely on an iPhone 14 Pro in collaboration with Apple, and honestly, you can’t even tell it wasn’t a full-blown professional camera. The video follows the girls at a pool party, cooking up a revenge plot for a friend’s boyfriend who has just been exposed for his unfaithful cheating actions.

Oranj taps Babak Ganjei for its merch drop
The natural wine bar and shop Oranj has just released its first ever merch in collaboration with the visual artist Babak Ganjei. The merch includes a witty graphic tee which reads “ORANJ MENU: STARTER, WINE, WINE, WINE, MAIN, WINE, WINE, WINE, DESSERT, NUROFEN”, and will arrive in a black and white versions on August 1 on the Oranj app.

Palladium is giving us the Pallashock Organic
The French footwear brand Palladium is giving us the sustainable remake we’ve been waiting for. The signature 90s inspired Pallashock sneaker is receiving an Organic makeover for SS23. Coming in both a HI and LO-top version, the updated shoe is made with organic cotton for its canvas upper, a recycled lining and natural rubber on its outsole, working towards Palladium’s aim towards becoming completely sustainable by 2025.

Malone Souliers goes retro futuristic for AW23
In its campaign titled “Retrofuturism: Style for Tomorrow’s World”, Malone Souliers takes one the inspiring yet nostalgic aesthetic to highlight its AW23 new styles alongside some of the brand’s classic pieces. Merging a glossy background with eye-catching pieces like the Markle boot and the Josia mule, the campaign’s characters are now available online and in London’s flagship boutique.
