It’s CULTED with your morning NEWSRUSH for Monday 24 August.
First up, Mercedes-Benz has shared a teaser of its upcoming collaboration with Virgil Abloh. Teasers posted to Mercedes instagram show close-ups of a G-Wagen customised by Virgil, and the designer also showcased a new shirt on his own Insta which looks set to be part of the collection. The whole collaboration will be officially revealed on 8 September, with the G-wagen project being auctioned off for charity later this year.
In other Virgil news, the second drop of the NIGO x Virgil Abloh LV² Collection is coming to the LV website on 28 August. The collection focuses on winter-wear and consists of a largely monochrome and beige colour palette.
In other news, Goat has unveiled its first brand campaign. The TV ad by Daniel Sannwald will make its debut during the NBA Playoffs on ESPN.
And to round off this morning’s updates, music and nightlife platform Boiler Room has teamed up with Apple music to bring 200 of its most iconic techno and electro recordings to subscribers. 100% of royalties from the streams will go to the rights holders, generating revenue for DJs, producers, singers and songwriters who’ve been affected by the pandemic.
That’s all for this morning’s updates. It’s Sam with CULTED.
