Monday NEWSRUSH Featuring Black Trans Lives Protest.

It’s CULTED with your Monday NEWSRUSH.

First up, thousands gathered for a peaceful protest in Brooklyn last night to highlight the violence taking place against transgender women.

In the US, Black trans women are killed at 7x the rate of the normal population, with the life expectancy of a Black trans woman being half of their cis counterparts. In this current political climate, it is more important than ever to do all that we can to protect the transgender community and use our voices to demand change.

In other news, in a now deleted Twitter post, Gucci Mane announced that he would be leaving longtime label, Atlantic Records, over claims that the company is “polite racist”.  With the music industry finally addressing its history of racism, it looks like this won’t be the only move we see.

Next up, Michael Kors has said goodbye to NYFW, instead opting for a spring 2021 presentation in October or November. In a statement, Kors says he has “for a long time thought that the fashion calendar needs to change.”

And to round off today, as if that iconic Versace J-Lo look wasn’t enough, Versace has released a Jungle Print Medusa Frame Watch inspired by that classic fashion moment. It’s online now and available for £1090.

That’s all for this morning it’s Sam with CULTED.
