It’s CULTED bringing you your Monday morning NEWS RUSH.
First up, in an Instagram post, Givenchy’s artistic director Clare Waight Keller announced her departure from the maison on Friday. The designer spent 3 years at Givenchy as the first female artistic director since the brand was founded in 1952. Givenchy has said it will announce a new “creative organization” at a later date. According to the BOF, mother company LVMH may be looking at several streetwear designers.
More on this tomorrow!
Next up, beauty giant IL MAKIAGE is set to hire 200 beauty freelancers who have been left unemployed due to COVID-19. The company is heavily tech driven and has been working on a virtual beauty school with lessons which will be made available for free to customers. IL MAKIAGE is planning to pay the makeup artists $25 an hour to teach up to 8 classes a day.
In other news, we all know Rihanna likes trolling us about her upcoming new album, but she’s made clear a pandemic is the wrong time to bug her over it! The icon went live on IG on Friday night and told fans “if one of y’all motherfuckers ask me about the album one more time when I’m tryna save the world, unlike y’all president….on sight!”. For now at least Rihanna has her hands full.
It’s Sam with CULTED. Have a great Monday, make sure you stay indoors!
