It’s CULTED with your 60-second FASHION BLAST.

Prada unveiled its SS21 collection yesterday via a digital presentation which was split into 5 parts, called ‘Prada Multiple Views – The Show That Never Happened’.

The Italian label tapped Terence Nance, Joanna Piotrowska, Martine Syms, Juergen Teller and Willy Vanderperre for the presentation, asking each to create a short film focussing on a different section of the collection. Prada explained that the films see “a singular statement replaced by the perspectives of many.”

The clothes themselves had an understated aesthetic following a muted colour palette of primarily black, grey and white. The collection featured a mix of sleek womenswear and menswear and Prada’s signature nylon was a feature on many tailored menswear items.

With this season’s presentation Prada told WWD “we had the occasion to show the next step — it’s clothes living in life. It is more than a fashion show. It enriches the show, and enriches the clothes.”

This presentation also marks Miuccia Prada’s final solo bow, after presenting her first ready-to-wear collection in 1989. Next season will see her join forces with Raf Simons in one of the most talked about collabs in recent years.
