Milan Fashion Week was cut short amid growing Coronavirus fears, leaving us with major concern for Paris Fashion Week. The Italian authorities cancelled all public events in the area after an outbreak of the virus in surrounding regions.
The outbreak began with one man and quickly spread to over 130 cases. As virus fears spread, transport from Italy to other countries has been affected.
Public spaces were closed but some shows did still go on. Giorgio Armani unveiled his AW20 collection behind closed doors. Whilst guests couldn’t attend the presentation, Armani instead live-streamed the show in an empty theatre. But this raises fears for Paris Fashion week.
Although the first death from the virus in Europe took place in Paris, France itself has so far managed to avoid an outbreak. With more and more cases of the virus being confirmed across Europe, we are waiting to see if the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la mode will release a statement.
We will keep you updated.
