It’s CULTED with your 60-second ART BLAST.
So many incredible art exhibitions have sadly been cancelled or postponed due to the global pandemic.
But all hope is not lost.
The Instagram account @artofsocialdistancing is showcasing exhibitions from around the world that have been affected by the pandemic. From major institutions like the Tate and the Carnegie Museum of Art to graduate showcases, the account has it all. Each post shows artwork from a different exhibition, along with detailed info on each artist and the displayed work.
The account creator told CULTED they created an Insta on the eve of the UK lockdown after they were supposed to travel to LA for an artist’s opening. They said:
“It has been very challenging for the artists and for the institutions, curators and gallerists who had dedicated so much hard work for their shows to simply be closed or postponed. I wanted to create a platform where I could showcase those affected.”
This is great to see at a time when supporting artists and creators has never been more important.
