Louis Vuitton showed their fall/winter 2020 collection in Paris yesterday.
This was Virgil Abloh’s fourth show for LV and the collection’s primary focus was on suits and smart wear.
The show was named Heaven on Earth, and the set was covered from floor to ceiling in a cloudscape.
Oversized tools were dotted around the set inspired by Louis Vuitton craftsmen.
Think Alice In Wonderland meets Dali.
In a video posted on Louis Vuitton’s Instagram, Abloh said “the collection is about being open-minded and free, even in the constructs of formal menswear”.
Stand-out pieces included deconstructed suits, hoodies and trench coats which were cut up and stitched back together to give the illusion that they were floating.
We also have to give a shoutout to that navy/white gradient suit which looked beyond cool.
Curved bags were also a focal point. Louis Pisano praised Abloh on Instagram stating that “when worn on the shoulder (it) moulds nicely into your hip”
The show closed with a series of fits featuring blue cloud print, matching the set which cemented the heavenly theme.
We will definitely see these full fits on many celebs like J Balvin or Travis Scott.
